I was trained at the London Film School in Covent Garden and began my career as an independent producer in the 1990s. I established my own production company - Marquee Film & TV - making films for BBC Inside Story and a Dispatches for C4, 'The Khartoum Connection', investigating the first attack on the World Trade Centre in 1995. This was the first piece of investigative reporting to identify Osama Bin Laden - who was then living in Khartoum - as the sponsor of acts of international terrorism, five years before 9/11.

In the late 1990s I also made three films for the landmark, 26-part BBC series, 'Peoples' Century', that documented the history of twentieth century through the eyes of ordinary people who were there at key events. The films included, 'Freedom Now' about decolonisation in India and Africa, and 'God Fights Back' about the rise of religious fundamentalism - Christian, Jewish, Muslim and Hindu in the latter half of the century.

I made a film for BBC Storyville,  about the coronation of King of Lesotho and his search for a wife that was shot over five years. I spent another five years filming teenage footballers - both white from Johannesburg and black from Soweto - who dreamed of becoming soccer stars in the New South Africa. 'Football & Freedom' was shown on BBC2 in the 'This World' strand.

In the mid-noughties I became a freelance Producer/Director and continued to make films about Africa including 'Hotspots: Nigeria' and 'The Real No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency'.

I've also made numerous biographical films for strands such as 'Who Do You Think You Are?' and 'The Real...'  as well as history and travel films with presenters  including Simon Reeve, Alice Roberts, Ade Adepitan and David Olusoga.

For the past ten years I've worked mostly as an Executive or Series Producer on archaeology and history programmes including Britain's Most Historic Towns, Lost Relics of the Knights Templar & 1000 Years A Slave.

I've been lucky enough to work with many talented actors during my career including: David Harewood, Alexander Armstrong, Martin Clunes, Joanna Lumley and Dame Diana Rigg.

I've travelled extensively and worked across six continents. I've followed the Arctic circle for 8,000 miles and crossed the Sahara desert.
